The Filet Bleu biscuit producer, a subsidiary of the Mousquetaires (Intermarché) group, based in Saint-Evarzec (29), wanted to automate the supplying of a VMI kneader with sugar and flour.
The Raw Materials
The flour and sugar are stored in silos.
The Implemented Procedure
In the framework of modernising a cookie production line, Filet Bleu acquired two flexible augers to automatically supply a VMI kneader with flour and sugar. "This step was carried out manually, states Alain Royer, technical purchases manager. For an operator, this could represent the off-loading of nearly 200 20-kg bags a day. It was becoming absolutely necessary to reduce the strain."
The spires, of a unit length of 18 m each, now supply the kneader from the existing storage silos. "In addition to the ergonomics of the station and the increase in productivity, we have made undeniable savings in raw materials purchases."
The transfer is done via a weighed hopper, supplied by Apia Technologie, which guarantees accurate compliance with the quantities implemented according to the type of recipes. "This was an important aspect in the scope of this initial collaboration. We have furthermore appreciated the possibility that Apia offers to conduct tests on the test station at Le Rheu. This greatly facilitated the making of our decision. "
